🎬 WHO IT'S FOR

Built for the people who plan the shoot.

Skaleta Studio is designed around the workflows of directors, ADs, producers, and cinematographers who plan film scenes, shots, and shooting days — every single day.

01
Directors
Plan the visual language of the film before the camera rolls. Lay out scenes, shots, and storyboard frames in one quiet place.
02
Assistant Directors
Build a working stripboard, assign shooting days, spot scheduling conflicts, and generate call sheets in minutes.
03
Producers
Track scenes, shots, characters, locations, and shooting days across the whole production. See the numbers at a glance.
04
Cinematographers
Design the shot list down to the lens. Attach storyboard frames and movement notes so nothing is improvised on set.
05
Screenwriters & Story Editors
Import your screenplay in Fountain format and Skaleta builds the scene list and character breakdown automatically.
06
Student & Indie Filmmakers
No subscriptions, no cloud, no accounts. Buy once, plan every film from now on — on your own Mac, forever.

🚀 HOW TO USE

From install to first call sheet

Six steps from buying the app to handing your AD a printed call sheet.

1
Buy and install from the Mac App Store
Open the App Store, search for Skaleta Studio, and click Buy. It installs in seconds — 1.1 MB, native SwiftUI, no downloads, no accounts, no setup.
2
Create your scenes
Click "+ Add Scene" and fill in the slug line, INT/EXT, time of day, location, page count, and synopsis. Or import your screenplay in Fountain format and Skaleta builds the scene list for you.
3
Build the shot list
Inside each scene, add shots with type (WS, MS, CU, etc.), movement (Static, Pan, Dolly, Handheld, etc.), lens, and description. Attach a storyboard frame to any shot if you have a sketch or reference image.
4
Add characters and locations
Open the Characters and Locations tabs in the sidebar. Add the names and actors, then assign them to scenes. Skaleta will flag any conflict — a character in two places on the same shooting day — automatically.
5
Schedule with the stripboard
Set a shooting day on each scene. Switch to the Stripboard view to see everything grouped by day, reorder with a click, and review total pages per day before locking the schedule.
6
Generate call sheets and export
Open the Call Sheets view, pick a shooting day, and print. Skaleta generates a professional call sheet with scenes, cast, crew, and notes. Export to PDF, RTF, CSV, Markdown, or Fountain whenever your crew needs a copy.
